Career Education

Exploring the World of Work

Career Education provides students with the opportunity to gain knowledge, experience, and credit through many different career exploration resources. It is important to give students the opportunity and support in Career Education in order to help prepare them for life after high school. These opportunities ensure that students enter college, other post-secondary schooling options, and/or the workforce with a more focused vision of their career pathway and plan.

Our goal for our Career Day is to create an atmosphere that will enable students of the RHAM community to learn about different career options, and learn that hard work and perseverance can help one succeed. We also want the students to have a better understanding about the educational and personal attributes that the current business community seeks in future candidates. We hope that our Career Day will help students to make informed college and career decisions.

Work-Based Learning

The Work-Based Learning Program is an individual mentorship program that awards credit to students who hold a job and work a minimum of 100 hours during the semester. Students work one on one with the Career Education Coordinator meeting periodically throughout the semester to complete the requirements of the program.

Students must apply to this program and meet certain criteria to be accepted. Students may only complete one semester of Work-Based Learning, and have the potential to earn 0.5 credits.

Interested students should submit an application to the School Counseling office,  their School Counselor, or to the Career Education Coordinator.
