RHAM High School Project Lead The Way

Welcome to PLTW Engineering

In PLTW Engineering, students engage in open-ended problem solving, learn and apply the engineering design process, and use the same industry-leading technology and software as are used in the world’s top companies. Students are immersed in design as they investigate topics such as sustainability, forces, structures, aerodynamics, manufacturing, and the environment, which gives them an opportunity to learn about different engineering disciplines before beginning post-secondary education or careers.

We are excited to be offering several courses which should excite your student if they are interested in problem solving, collaboration, project based learning and applying their science and math skills by seeing them in action. All of the PLTW courses are eligible for college credit with a passing score on the PLTW end of course exam, along with a class score of 85 or better. Please click on each for more information on what each course will offer.

Mrs. Lastrina was a Para-Educator/ESOL Tutor for 19 years prior to coming to RHAM High School in 2017, previously employed with Cromwell Schools. She also worked in manufacturing and as an electronic test technician.

Besides currently teaching PLTW Engineering and Technology Education, she also advises the Technology Student Association (TSA) and the all new Video Game Design clubs.

I am so fortunate to be able to combine my love of children and technology every day here at RHAM! Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions/concerns.

Let's go raptors!
